Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of hospital executives, physicians, nurses and other members of the health care team.

Statement of Need/Program Overview
This conference is designed for Administrators, directors of nursing and nursing staff, quality improvement professionals, social work directors, directors of behavioral health and clinical services, managed care staff and compliance staff. The education offers the latest hot topics ranging from workforce to regulatory issues, for clinicians and administrators working to provide the highest quality health care across the continuum.

Annual Conference Learning Objectives:

  1. Recall basic principles for documentation.
  2. Describe the regulatory and professional guidelines for credentialing, privileging, and background checks.
  3. Outline the basic risk management techniques in a facility and in an outpatient clinic setting.
  4. Explain how healthcare providers can improve upon communication between each other and with the patient.
  5. Discuss that CMS has specific things that need to be documented in the medical record for the one-hour face to face evaluation on patients who are violent and or self-destructive
  6. Recall that CMS requires that all physicians and others who order restraints must be educated on the hospital policy
  7. Describe that CMS has restraint education requirements for staff
  8. Describe how to notify CMS of patient deaths while in restraints or seclusion

Accredited Continuing Education
Accreditation Statement


In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by AXIS Medical Education and The Texas Hospital Association. AXIS Medical Education is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.


This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 2.0 Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credit for learning and change.

ACHE Qualified Education

The Texas Hospital Association is authorized to award 9.0 hours of pre-approved ACHE Qualified Education credit for this program toward advancement or recertification in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Participants in this program wishing to have the continuing education hours applied toward ACHE Qualified Education credit should indicate their attendance when submitting application to the American College of Healthcare Executives for advancement or recertification.

Credit Designation for Accountancy Continuing Education

Public Accountancy CPE (NASBA-CPE)

The Texas Hospital Association has registered with the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy as a CPE sponsor. This registration does not constitute an endorsement by the board as to the quality of the program. This courses may be submitted to the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy for up to 10.8 contact hours.
