Supplemental Staffing

SETRAC is dedicated to helping healthcare providers continue to meet medical needs in their communities, despite hardships caused by Harvey. We know that many of your staff have been working around the clock since the storm or perhaps they are unavailable due to evacuations.

To help supplement local manpower, we have compiled a pool of various nursing and other clinicians who may help you meet needs. To speed access to these valuable resources, we will check primary license verification for RNs & LVNs only. We are requesting that the facilities verify all other providers.

Please note that we will be unable to perform criminal background checks nor verify work history. SETRAC is not in position to endorse candidates who have volunteered. We cannot accept responsibility for their performance. If you identify issues of any kind with a volunteer caregiver, please notify us immediately (and confirm our receipt of your notification) so that we can consider removing volunteers from the pool.

In order to do this most effectively, please email clinicalneeds@setrac.org by 2:00 p.m. daily with the following information:

  • Facility contact
  • Type of nurses/clinicians needed (i.e. NICU).
  • Number of nurses/clinicians needed.
  • Length of time needed.
  • Whether pay will be provided by your facility
  • Whether transportation, housing and food will be provided for volunteers.

Matching needs with available help is essential. Once requests are initially compiled, we will begin notifying individual facilities with volunteer names and contact information. It is important to note that it is the facilities responsibility to make any necessary travel and hotel arrangements for the providers. Volunteers vary on expectation regarding compensation. Please have this discussion prior to making travel arrangements.

Please note that while SETRAC will take on the responsibility of helping coordinate the placement of clinical volunteers in affected hospitals and other facilities we cannot be held liable for the actions of the individual volunteers or the quality of their work.

If you have further questions, please contact by email only Catherine.Bissell@setrac.org

By the way, we will consistently ask volunteers who are employed to please ensure that their offer to volunteer does not conflict with their normal work. We do not want to pull personnel from existing workforces.

Thank you.
